Sensitivity to context is always an important factor in creating habitable spaces.

In this case, we were asked to design a rental space and a home on a very long and narrow lot. We decided to build the rental space at the front and the dwelling at the back.

One of the main challenges was finding a way to access the home without crossing through the interior of the apartments. To do this, we built the apartment on two levels and created a tunnel to access beneath them. At the back, we decided to "fragment" the construction so as not to touch the existing trees.

Between these two areas, we placed the pool to create distance between the different uses. This also allowed us to take advantage of the sunniest area of the lot and keep the pool water at a pleasant temperature.
